One day at the coComment office

Thanks to the Swiss Rocketboom field reporter!
We get more and more mentions on blogs around the world so I am monitoring Technorati feeds like crazy. It’s really cool to get instant feedback even if sometimes understanding it is…. a bit challenging! So what’s up on a rainy Saturday night?

Keep on blogging folks!
We just published some updates in the Your conversations page, mostly changing the order of the sidebar elements. We hope it will be more usable like that.
There is also a new homepage that will make it clear coComment’s registrations are now open, free, and don’t require any code! Open your account if you haven’t done yet!
We will now work on the navigation with the help of our information architect, to simplify your experience on cocomment.com. If you have some ideas and suggestions don’t hesitate ![]()
Chorus Line loves our cute buttons, which reminds me that we forgot to tell you about what you can do to promote coComment on your site! There are two things actually, namely:

If you have made some custom buttons or have ideas don’t hesitate to contact our head designer Raphael (raph ||at|| cocomment)
All these actions are detailed on our Promote page. And we have some more features in the pipe but that’s a secret for now.
It’s a plugin day!
Amit has also released a wordpress plugin to easily integrate coComment in a Wordpress blog.
Check Amit’s post on his plugin:
WordPress is not fully supported by coComment. So I decided to remedy that by allowing an easy integration of coComment.
Presenting the iG:CoComment plugin, that will integrate coComment into your WordPress blog without any pain and frustration
From the Email Amit sent us:
The plugin gives an admin GUI to the blog admin from where he can decide if he wants coComment activated automatically or allow for tracking of all comments or
just have coComment integrated without having it auto-activated.
Thanks Amit and don’t hesitate to discuss next features with David : )
RSS feeds are back to normal, was an encoding issue.
Thanks to all those who called to tell us that the RSS feed links are broken. It seems we have an encoding issue since the last release.
Sorry about that - we will fix it asap - and in the meantime please use the Your conversations page instead.
David, who publishes a famous Wordpress plugin for coComment, has just released a new version to support our latest features. From his blog:
In an effort to keep my WordPress plugin up to date, I made a few changes to the plugin to support the new feature.
- general options of the plugin allow to choose from disabling coComment, use the plugin’s own toggle button or use the new coComment ‘Enable’ button and the new ‘track all’ feature
- you can set if a new post should by default support ‘track all’ or not
- the ‘track all’ comments feature can be switched on or off on a per post basis
Download the new version from the coComment Enhancer page. Feel free to give it a try and please let me know about bugs you may encounter.
Thanks David, our users rock!
To better track the audience of this blog I moved the RSS feed to the great feedburner service. So here is the new address:
You don’t have to update your bookmarks, but if you do we will appreciate and have a better understanding of who you guys are!
Sometimes our great little tool goes the extra mile and has some unexpected effects on people’s live. Jack Yan - blogger and coCommenter - reports on two of his friends, K in Hong Kong and C. Trinity in Antwerpen, who “after encountering each other via coComment […] have come together to decide that June 13 is the day they’ll stop [smoking]”.
Glad we could help! And it seems you can join the movement and encourage these guys by clicking here.
Have you heard of any other coComment side effects?
