Your Conversations Page: How Do You Use It?

May 27th, 2006

How do you use the "Conversations" page? When do you visit it? Do you visit it at all? I find myself going there pretty infrequently, and the links I click on most are the little grey boxes on the right which take me to the blog article I’ve commented upon. What about you?

Do you use the other links? How often? What links would you like to have on that page?

What about the RSS feed? Are you happy with the links it provides?

Just to have the comment date a couple of minutes later than this post ;)

Seriously I may not be the best one to answer but yes : I use the grey box too and am very happy to check if the article title is in bold or not –> new content. That’s the killer feature for me. And sometimes to browse inside the comments themselves to remind me of something somewhere without going on every little grey boxes…

I have a one small problem with the RSS Feed. In my blog http://chronotron.wordpress.com, the RSS Feed Widget for my coCo comments does not work. Any idea why? Are you using valid RSS?

I find the page invaluable - I check on it regularly when at work as it saves me from keeping track of the ten or so different places conversations might be going on. It means I can respond quickly if I have to. I mainly use the little grey box to get to the pertinent post as well.

In the RSS feed it would be nice if instead of saying just “(unknown) says:”, it could say “unknown as Jeff says:”

I use it all the time, to see which conversations have updated. With greater frequency, I do check on the new comments from that page, rather than click through to the blog itself. Only problem I have is that sometimes, when I expand a thread, the whole index goes below the right-hand column, occupying the full width of the window.

Time out & Lots of link love!

After the extreme disappointment yesterday morning, I took some time off from the world of glitz, glamour and happy faces. I needed some time to be with myself, sometime to see the truth and sometime to realize things. I thought a lot, a damn lot and d…

I agree - the main use for me is to come in, find the active conversations that have been going on and then visit the site / post from there.

Especially good for tracking conversations where you’ve commented on 10/20 posts that day and then want to get back to them all.
